Job DescriptionnGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is hiring for Software Engineers to join our Canadian Air team. These positions can be based in Ottawa or Halifax. This team is advancing Canada’s aerospace capabilities by developing software solutions that support mission-critical functions. These systems contribute directly to improving operational effectiveness, situational awareness, and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

n

Performing software requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and integration

n

Writing and reviewing software design documentation, test plans, and procedures

n

Developing high-quality, maintainable code while adhering to project and coding standards

n

Participating in code reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

n

Troubleshooting and resolving software issues, including root cause analysis and verification of fixes

n

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support system design, integration, and validation

n

Providing technical support to internal stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle

n

Presenting technical content at design reviews and team meetings

n

Qualifications

n

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical/scientific discipline

n

Minimum 5 years of experience, preferred 10+ years

n

Relevant experience with software development projects

n

Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Java, C/C++, Ada)

n

Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented design tools

n

Familiarity with Linux as a host environment and software version control systems

n

Strong communication, problem-solving, and analysis skills

n





Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision

n

Positive approach to learning, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for taking ownership of work

n

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.

Additional InformationnThe hiring range for this position is \$90,000-\$140,000. Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive offer based on an assessment of internal equity and your qualifications, including:
