Tumbler Ridge Elementary School
nTumbler Ridge Elementary School is located in the scenic town of Tumbler Ridge, BC. Tumbler Ridge is a quiet town, even on the busiest of days. The town offers a quick commute to the schools and the ability to walk anywhere you want to go. There are so many things for families to do in the small town, nestled in the mountains. There are plenty of parks all over town, easy hikes for children of all ages and there is even the opportunity to walk where dinosaurs once walked millions of years ago.n
The Community Centre offers numerous free, and reasonably priced, activities after school and the pool is a great place to visit any time of the year. Snowmobiling, cross country skiing,
curling along with golfing at our nine-hole course are just a few of the other activities that many families enjoy. The slow-paced lifestyle is one you will grow to appreciate, especially after visiting other busier communities on the weekend.

Required qualifications and experience:

- Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
n
- Successful K-12 teacher training and practicum or evaluation documentation
n
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
n
nDesired qualifications and experience include:n

- Experience with adapting, and modifying, curriculum to meet the needs of students
n
- Ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with diverse needs
n
- Strong classroom management skills
n
- Experience working with students who display a variety of behaviours
n
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
n
- Willingness to work and implement school initiatives and goals
n
- Capacity to work independently and in collaboration with a team
n
- Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques
n
- Experience teaching in a multiage group setting
n
- Engages in fair, student focused assessment practices consistent with the BC curriculum and reporting order, and reflects on evidence of learning to guide instruction
n
