We are a small community pharmacy looking to grow our team with a part time or full time pharmacist (flexible scheduling available). Pharmacists can practice to their full scope at our location. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care through accurate medication dispensing, counseling, and collaboration with healthcare professionals. This position offers an opportunity to work in a agile setting focused on improving patient outcomes across various clinical settings. The pharmacist will ensure the safe and effective use of medications while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Duties
- Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with provincial standards
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and interactions
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and review treatment plans, ensuring optimal medication management
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapy as necessary in coordination with medical staff
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensation, patient interactions, and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards
- Assist in training and supervising pharmacy technicians and interns as needed
- Stay current with new medications, medical terminology, and advancements in pharmacy practice to enhance patient care
Experience
- Prior experience in community pharmacy is preferred, new grads are welcome to apply
- Strong background in patient care, medication administration, and medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams is advantageous
- Certification as a licensed Pharmacist is required (timeline flexible for new grads); ongoing professional development is encouraged to stay updated on industry best practices
