The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Project Geologist, the incumbent will carry out duties to assist in the process for managing drill core from the Buried Treasure Project drill program. This process may include transportation of the drill core from the project site (Kirkland Lake) to the Sudbury core shack on a weekly basis.
This position is for a period of approximately 5 months, on a Monday to Friday day shift, 40 hour per week. The start date for this position is between May 19, 2026 and June 1, 2026 with an end date of October 30, 2026.
Accommodations in Kirkland Lake will be provided if required.
What You’ll Do
- Transferring drill core from the drill site to the local drill core logging facility;
- Laying out drill core for review/logging by geologist;
- Tagging core boxes for the geologist;
- Packing up core boxes for transportation;
- Transportation of core boxes to Sudbury via pickup truck;
- Stacking of un-shipped core in temporary core farm at Buried Treasure Project;
- Miscellaneous paperwork and filing;
- Moderate to heavy lifting will be required at times;
- Follow departmental safety program and maintain safety standards;
- Such other duties as may be assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Shift Schedule - Monday to Friday Dayshift, 40 hours per week with flexible start and end times to accommodate travel and the demands of an active drilling program;
- Public transportation is not available to this work location. Applicant will need to ensure own transportation to local core processing facility/office (in Kirkland Lake). A company vehicle will be provided for work;
- Valid driver’s license is required;
- Heavy lifting of approximately 50lbs will be required multiple times per shift;
- A physical examination may be required;
- PPE is provided;
- Preference will be given to a local Matachewan or Kirkland Lake Resident and/or student.

What we offer
