GeneralnFunction

n

Camp Counsellors are responsible fornmaking the magic of camp happen. They deliver daily programming,nensure camper safety and wellbeing, and provide quality care andnsupervision for their group of 10 campers. Camp Counsellors arenfun, creative, caring and energetic. In this role staff may benrequired to work 7:00-3:00pm, 8:30-4:30pm, 10:00-6:00pm or splitnshifts.

KeynResponsibilities

n

Programming: Lead andnparticipate in all programs and actively swim with campers eachnday. Modify programming to fit the age and skill level of allnparticipants.

n

Camper Care: Interact with allncampers in a positive and supportive manner in line with thenHealthy Childhood Development frameworks. Be a role model fornsafety and take responsibility for the supervision and security ofnall participants in your care at allntimes.

n

Customer Service: Provide excellentncustomer service to all campers, parents/guardians, and servicenproviders as a representative of the YMCA. Demonstrate a robustnsupport of and commitment to the mission, vision, and core valuesnof the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and the YMCA ofnCanada.

n

Administration: Complete all necessarynpaperwork (site checks, program paperwork, incident reports, staffnmeetings, and parent feedback).

n

Additionalnresponsibilities: Additional duties may be added and roles alterednto support operations.

Criminal RecordnCheck with a Vulnerable Sectors Screening for those 18+ years ofnage. Applicants are advised to begin the Criminal Record Checknprocess early as it may take several weeks to obtainnresults.
