0.5 - 1.0 FTE Counselor - Contract position with the potential to become permanent
Hospice Calgary is a non-profit organization serving the Calgary community for over 30 years.
Through our three centres of care, we support children, teens, and adults through the grieving process as they face advanced illness or the death of someone in their life. We promise to have the difficult conversations about death, dying, and grief while honouring each unique experience of grief.
The Osten-Victor Living with Advanced Illness Centre is seeking an experienced and skilled counsellor to join our team to provide short and long-term grief and trauma-focused counselling to adults who are being impacted by advanced illness.
What We Require
- Registration as R Psych, MSW, CCC, Counselling Therapists
- Provisional psychologists will be considered but external supervision will be responsibility of applicant
- Minimum 2-5 years clinical counselling experience
- Alignment with Hospice Calgary’s values as well as philosophy of hospice and grief care
- Demonstration of competencies and evidence-based theoretical orientation and therapeutic modalities
- Understanding of grief and loss in therapeutic work
- Ability to effectively self-manage caseload
- 4 sessions per day and completion of case notes within 5 business days
- Commitment to ongoing professional development including 1:1 clinical supervision as well as observations for case management and clinical growth
- Non-compete agreement, if currently in private practice
- Valid driver’s license with own transportation
