We are currently seeking a versatile Human Resources Advisor to join our team temporarily providing maternity leave coverage. Working collaboratively with operational leaders, you will balance strategic planning with day-to-day people management needs, expertly guiding employee relations, performance management, investigations, and other complex HR matters. You’ll also play a key role in crafting and implementing policies, programs, and other initiatives, ensuring compliance with provincial employment legislation and standards. Bringing compassion and clarity to each interaction, you’ll help ensure our team members’ careers are remarkable.
What You’ll Be Doing
- HR Partnership: Provide day-to-day HR guidance to assigned client groups across a broad range of people matters.
- Coaching and Mentorship: Advise leaders on performance management, conflict resolution, feedback conversations, and team effectiveness.
- Champion Employee Engagement: Working with client groups and leadership, design and apply carefully curated tools, frameworks, and experiences that enhance team effectiveness, development and retention.
- Change Management: Support leaders in organizational development and transition initiatives, ensuring thoughtful and effective implementation.
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Execute key processes including onboarding, probation reviews, performance and development planning, offboarding, investigations, disciplinary actions, terminations, maintaining accurate records.
- Leave & Disability Case Management: Oversee leave and disability case management, including unpaid leaves, STD, LTD, and WCB cases, ensuring timely documentation, proactive communication, and effective return-to-work coordination.
- Collaboration: Partner with Talent Acquisition, Payroll & Benefits, Operations and other teams to help deliver a seamless and thoughtful People Services experience.
- Cross-Banner Alignment: Ensure policies, practices,
and standards are applied consistently across teams and partners, identifying differences for review and integration, as appropriate.
- Improve Processes and Programs: Contribute to policies, strategies, and projects that drive sustainable change, using data to inform decisions.
- Uphold Standards and Compliance: Promote adherence to protocols, processes, legislative, and regulatory requirements.
- Expand Expertise: Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up to date on industry best practices to provide solutions and proactively identify and address issues.
- Talent Attraction: Support talent acquisition efforts.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Professional Membership: CPHR designation is an asset.
- Human Resources Expertise: Experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner, applying best practices and employment laws to advise and coach leaders on performance management, engagement, retention, and development, while translating business needs into effective HR strategies.
- Industry Experience: Background working in a healthcare environment is beneficial.
- Technology Proficiency: The ability to use a variety of complex business tools and systems including Microsoft Office, and integrated human resources information systems such as Ceridian Dayforce.
- A Compassionate Approach: Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a highly developed interpersonal approach that builds trust across all levels of the organization.

Additional Information
- Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time.
- Contract Length: 18-month term.
- Work Location: This hybrid role is primarily based out of our Sloane Square office in Calgary, AB. Access to a vehicle is required to meet the needs of your local client groups. Occasional travel to support non-local client groups may be required.
