Vicuña Corp. has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner to develop and shape the HR function in Canada.

Reporting to the Director, International Human Resources and Talent Management in Argentina, this is a stand-alone role that delivers end-to-end people services and solutions for Canada based employees and leaders of a new entity. The role is critical in executing all people initiatives and driving HR functional excellence and process improvements. The incumbent is a resource for international initiatives, policies and strategies including global mobility, recruitment and talent development.

The position is in-office, based at the Company’s office in Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities:

- Contribute to and execute strategic objectives as articulated by HR leadership
- Act as the main point of contact for Vancouver based leadership team and develop collaborative relationships that influence decisions and impact business outcomes
- Communicate Company policies and procedures and educate managers on implementation and compliance of the same
- Engage with all staff and leaders to ensure resolution of emerging concerns promptly and effectively
- Oversee the payroll process for Canada based employees and expatriates, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Manage all employee inquiries (payroll, benefits, employee life cycle events, relocation, etc.)
- Assist leadership in the development of organization structures and meet with managers regularly to support their manpower planning
- Provide full cycle recruitment support for Canada based roles and select international positions
- Support annual compensation cycle including participation in salary surveys, analysis of survey data, administration of merit increases, bonus calculations for Canada based employees and expatriates. Provide key inputs for staffing plan budgeting process.
- Ensure that the performance review process is understood by managers and employees and embedded in the business by providing coaching and/or training as required.



Quality check sample performance to ensure that employees have plans in place and support managers on improvement opportunities. Facilitate performance and compensation review cycles.
- Develop Canada specific policies and guidelines that align with organization goals and overall HR strategy
- Using knowledge of industry best practices, contribute to the development of global HR policies and/or procedures
- Participate in implementation of HRIS modules as required and ensure data integrity
- Select, manage and liaise with HR vendors to ensure service delivery standards are met and invoices paid on a timely basis
- Generate monthly & quarterly reports as required
- Other duties as assigned by Director, International HR and Talent Management

Required Skills & Experience:

- Degree/diploma in Human Resources or a related field and minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role
- Track record of HR strategy execution in top tier multi-national companies (preferably in mining, construction or related industries) in hyper growth and/or project execution stages as well as operations
- Hands-on experience working at site locations, supporting operational and project-based teams
- Demonstrated knowledge of international HR practices and standards
- Strong compensation background with experience in salary structure design, job evaluation, survey analysis and annual compensation processes
- Experience in global mobility, including immigration, tax, and relocation management
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll, CRA regulations and BC Employment Standards
- Negotiation and influencing skills at a managerial level
- Resourceful and proactive with a solid change and growth mindset
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, tactfulness and discretion when dealing with employees in all situations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural team workplace
- Advanced MS Office applications and HRIS (Success Factors preferred) knowledge
- Spanish communication skills preferred
