About the Opportunity

Our client, located in the Stittsville area, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their leadership team.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, this is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing the full finance function while providing strategic insight to support business operations. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive, business-minded finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Duties include but are not limited to

Lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

Manage the full month-end close process including reconciliations and financial statement preparation

Prepare financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP

Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support decision-making

Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing processes

Manage cash flow, cost controls, and profitability analysis

Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures

Supervise, mentor, and support administrative/finance staff

Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions

Oversee government remittances (CRA, HST, WSIB, etc.)

Provide regular financial and operational reporting to leadership

Support continuous improvement of financial systems and processes

About You

The successful candidate will have the following

CPA designation (or near completion)





At least 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience

Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls

Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and macros)

Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on workplace

About the Job

Salary: $80,000 to $110,000, depending on experience

Bonus: Performance-based bonus structure

Work Model: In-office
