The Occupational Therapist practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics established by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of assessments, treatment interventions, discharge planning and community liaison. Some coverage to other clinical areas will be provided as needed.
Qualifications
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Demonstrated current knowledge of assessment and management in a broad range of disease processes
3 years recent, relevant experience in acute medicine and with geriatric populations
Demonstrated current knowledge and experience in Acute Medicine
Demonstrated expertise in physical assessment, cognitive assessment and rehabilitative approaches
Evidence of ability to utilize problem-solving and critical-thinking techniques effectively in an acute medical setting
Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
Demonstrated current knowledge of and experience with discharge planning and community resources
Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
Demonstrated solid leadership ability and organizational skills, with evidence of ongoing career development
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced workplace
