Contract Administration and Procurement VI
Apply and implement expert consulting knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet the established contract, commercial, procurement, and claims management requirements
Manage and set the overall direction of all assigned staff, at varying levels of seniority, overseeing procurement, commercial, and claims management activities on medium to high‑complexity projects or programs
Set the direction for commercial management services in areas of contract administration, procurement services, and claims management and ensure that the work is fully supported in an integrated, compliant, efficient, and cost‑effective manner
Ensure commercial service activities are per the mission and goals of the contract, project, or program. This includes all services related to claims management
Develop, define, implement, manage, and own the outcomes of all short and long‑term commercial management service goals and success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties
Finalize the budget and operating delivery plan for commercial services, in consultation with our project or program delivery team
Exercise authority by managing and owning the delivery of commercial services under the contract or project portfolio per project plans
Manage a commercial (or combined services) team consisting of multi‑firm and client resources. Leverage their diverse array of talents and delegate responsibilities
Proactively plan, direct, and execute the appropriate means and methods required in commercial management (including claims management) to successfully achieve the commercial services offered from inception to completion. Recognize and implement any revisions to the approach when required
Provide sound leadership and oversight to the commercial team members (commercial, claims, and administration). Recognize the strengths of each team member and build up their confidence to soundly navigate the complexities of the assigned task(s) and provide constructive feedback that can be applied to their professional growth
Build and maintain a positive, high‑performing team culture with an openness to constructive challenge, continuous improvement, implementation of lessons learned, and an overall ‘right‑first‑time’ mindset
Manage any performance‑related issues, prepare sound employee evaluations, coach and mentor staff, identify opportunities to improve employee engagement, review and approve timesheets and vacation requests, etc.
Track and effectively communicate team performance, project status, commercial strategies, and benefits. Identify any team performance or project deliverable concerns and proactively address and resolve matters to ensure the team's success and overall client satisfaction with the services provided
Manage the interface between client, consultants, and all associated service providers at all levels of the engagement model
Manage senior‑level customer relationships
Determine and convey the human and material resources required to complete assigned contracts and projects successfully
Formulate a resource allocation strategy and utilize this to distribute work and budgets
Exercise authority in managing the work and controlling the delivery of commercial elements and requirements under the contract and per project plans
Direct, track, monitor, and report commercial, claims, and procurement staff performance (including non‑company resources) and ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlines, scope, budget, quality measures, KPI, etc. Address issues with corrective actions as appropriate
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Evaluate commercial performance and overall effectiveness by consulting with clients and project staff
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, evaluations, and presentations to various audiences, including the project team, senior executives, key stakeholders, and company operations
Manage and negotiate scope changes, including the development of costs and risk assessments for review with leadership and develop change requests
Act as an internal quality control check for the project on the performance of all commercial items and deliverables
Manage any ongoing quality control issues and participate in and monitor the resolution
Enforce acceptable standards of workmanship in all commercial management areas through every stage of the work

Qualifications
Minimum of 18 years of experience in Procurement, Contract Administration, Supply Chain Management, and Claims Management
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial and Claims Management or relevant Claims experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of Construction, Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Logistics or Supply Management
Holding recognized certification in specified fields of Engineering, Contracts Management, Program Management, Procurement Management, or Project Management including PMP (Project Management Professional), Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certificate Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) or equivalent

Expert knowledge and successful execution of Project Management methods
Extensive understanding of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
Adept at taking the lead on potentially risky technical decisions related to Commercial Management services with minimal supervision
Effectively anticipates, identifies, and minimizes risks
Expert ability to detect and capitalize, while being sensitive to, others' strengths
Demonstrated capability to supervise, delegate, and develop capacity
Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension
Well‑versed and experienced in managing the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
Proven success in providing on‑site leadership for project teams by building and motivating staff to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
Proficiency in taking ownership and efficiently managing resources to identify, solve, and overcome challenges
Substantiated experience delivering excellent results and exceeding clients' and external and internal stakeholders' expectations
Keen on sustainability, social responsibility, and making a positive environmental impact
Professionally represent the organization at all times
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
Mastery of Project Management software
Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
Seasoned and capable of negotiating favorable contractual terms
Fosters collaborative relationships with various teams, partners, and clients
Arranges priorities and escalates competing risks to meet deadlines
Keen eye for detail and adept problem‑solving abilitieswith a track record for meeting deadlines
Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal) in a demanding multidisciplinary project environment
