The opportunity Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee‑owned Company is seeking a VP Technology and Information Services to lead the firm’s Technology & Information Services (TIS) function and advance the strategic use of technology across the organization.
The VP TIS will play a key leadership role in enabling the firm’s continued growth by strengthening technology capabilities, improving service delivery, and fostering stronger partnerships between technology teams and the business. This person will guide the organization’s digital future, including the adoption of AI, data, analytics, and emerging technologies that enhance engineering practices, operational efficiency and client service.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, VP TIS will lead a unified technology organization responsible for infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, digital innovation, and technology‑enabled business transformation.

Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy
Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with the firm’s business objectives and long‑term growth plans.
Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI and advanced analytics, to enhance project delivery and client service.
Business Partnership
Strengthen collaboration between technology teams and operating units.
Establish structured engagement with business leaders to ensure technology priorities support operational needs and translate business goals into actionable technology initiatives.
Serve as a strategic advisor on technology trends and digital opportunities.
Technology Operations
Oversee reliable delivery of enterprise technology services including infrastructure, enterprise applications, end‑user computing, and IT service management.
Ensure strong performance, metrics‑based service quality, and operational resilience through continuous improvement practices.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
Maintain and continuously strengthen the firm’s cybersecurity posture.
Ensure appropriate governance and risk management practices for enterprise technology including compliance, audit readiness and data protection.
Program & Project Delivery
Lead major technology initiatives and digital transformation programs.
Implement effective project governance and ensure delivery of measurable business outcomes.
Leadership & Capability Development
Build and lead a high‑performing technology organization.
Foster a strong service culture and develop career pathways for technology professionals.
Promote digital capability development across the firm and champion the adoption of modern tools and practices.
Job Requirements Does this sound like you?
Ten or more years of senior leadership experience in information technology, digital transformation, or enterprise systems.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to align technology strategy with business priorities.
Experience overseeing enterprise technology operations, cybersecurity, and major technology programs.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience in professional services, engineering, or consulting environments is an asset.
