Our client, an innovative organization offering integrated legal, accounting and HR services, is seeking to recruit a Business Lawyer to support the growth of its practice serving SME clients. The team acts as a true operational partner to businesses, engaging directly with their day-to-day challenges rather than operating as a traditional external advisor.

The Role As a Business Lawyer, you will primarily work on corporate and contractual matters for a diverse SME client base. You will be involved throughout the entire lifecycle of mandates, from corporate structuring to contract drafting, with a high level of autonomy and direct contact with business leaders. The role offers meaningful involvement in client growth as well as the opportunity to contribute actively to the development of a rapidly expanding legal practice.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance and updating of corporate documentation in the context of reorganizations and transactions

Take ownership of standard corporate reorganizations

Draft and revise documentation related to business transactions, including share and asset purchases and sales

Draft, analyze and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements





Advise clients on corporate and contractual legal matters

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in human resources and accounting

Maintain direct relationships with business leaders and act as a trusted advisor

Actively contribute to the evolution and structuring of the legal department

Requirements

Member in good standing of the Québec Bar

Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in corporate and contractual law

Strong understanding of SME business realities

Excellent drafting skills and ability to simplify complex legal concepts

Autonomy, initiative and sound professional judgment

Ability to manage multiple files efficientlyStrong organizational skills and respect for deadlines

Strong communication skills in both French and English

Collaborative mindset and solution-oriented approach
