The Agency Distribution Manager (ADM) is responsible for expanding and strengthening Nova’s exclusive agency channel, driving profitable growth through a sales-driven and entrepreneurial culture. This role plays a critical part in advancing the agency distribution as a core pillar of Nova’s growth strategy.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the ADM leads a team of exclusive agents, providing coaching, guidance, and strategic direction to drive sales excellence, business growth, and member engagement.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-oriented professional with proven experience in agent development, recruitment, and performance management. They will foster trusted relationships, support agent success, and act as a strategic advisor in building Nova’s agency network into a high-performing and sustainable distribution channel.
Key Responsibilities
Agency Growth & Development
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow Nova’s exclusive agency channel, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
- Identify and attract high-potential entrepreneurial minded agency partners aligned with Nova’s mission, vision, and mutual values.
- Coach and support agents in building strong, sustainable books of business focused on profitable growth and member relationships.
- Establish performance goals and key metrics for agency partners, regularly monitoring results against business targets.
- Collaborate with agents to identify local market opportunities and develop strategies to improve sales, retention, and member engagement.
- Work with Marketing and Underwriting teams to deliver programs and tools that enable agencies to differentiate Nova in their local markets.
Training & Support
- Facilitate ongoing learning and best-practice sharing across the agency network.
- Support new agents with start-up guidance, sales coaching, and access to training resources that build confidence and capability.
- Ensure agents are well-versed in Nova’s products, systems, and customer experience standards.
Strategic Collaboration & Representation
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between agency and broker distribution strategies, and overall corporate objectives.
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on agency network performance, competitive trends, and opportunities for innovation.
- Represent Nova’s agency channel at community events, industry forums, and internal functions to promote brand visibility and awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent skilled experience considered.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in business development, sales management, or agency leadership within the insurance industry.
- Proven success leading and developing teams to achieve high performance and measurable business results.
- Strong understanding of insurance distribution models and agency operations.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
