About This Team The Global Network Automation team is a world‑class delivery group that builds and maintains the underpinnings of lululemon’s technology environment. We are a product and platform team that shares a passion for continuous high‑quality delivery and work closely with our internal teams and our business partners. With these partners we co‑create a powerful roadmap to deliver amazing experiences to our guests with innovation, value, and reliability.

Day in the Life This Staff Engineer will define the architecture and influence the solution and business strategy to build cost‑effective global network automation. This architecture is the core of a multi‑global network backbone that supports all our application teams. The role will lead the engineering of platform automation that enables high‑scale internal teams to securely use the high performance and scalable lululemon Global network.

As a Staff Engineer, you will work as a technical engineering leader for the lululemon Global network automation team. You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space as you contribute to all areas of design and engineering (pre‑production to production). You will spend a fair amount of time planning the evolution of the tools and systems in network infrastructure, guiding your team’s roadmap year to year, and leading and enrolling others. You will contribute heavily to our Engineering principles by maintaining the practical “how we do it” documentation, and by partnering with fellow network engineers, senior leadership and principal engineers & architects to lead a Community of Practice aimed at increasing engineer training and development for your technology area.

Responsibilities





Serve as a lead engineering resource on the global network automation team, dealing with challenging engineering problems and opportunities

Influence decisions that impact critical long‑term technology strategy for organizational success

Serve as the subject‑matter expert for network automation and reliability engineering

Design and build advanced automation solutions for network configuration and management

Provide thought leadership in the global network automation domain to ensure systems and services achieve optimal levels of performance, reliability, security, and sustainability

Own technical delivery and ownership of network automation design and engineering solutions

Provide solutions that support multiple teams across the organization

Contribute to the development of new network automation engineering principles and concepts

Lead various efforts by engaging and coordinating work with other network engineers and architects, and providing updates to leadership and other teams

Collaborate with members around best practices for delivering highly performant and scalable solutions for the global network

Ensure security practices and fundamentals are defined and shared across multiple teams, and mentor others on these practices

Identify solutions for network security automation gaps and challenges

Platform Ownership & Strategy

Define and evolve the Network Engineering & Automation platform roadmap in partnership with senior leadership

Lead architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise engineering standards

Research emerging technologies and guide adoption to achieve future‑state goals

Technical Leadership

Serve as the subject‑matter expert for network engineering & automation and reliability engineering

Mentor engineers and lead a Community of Practice focused on platform standards

Establish and maintain engineering guides and best practices for the domain

DevOps & Reliability

Own platform reliability, security, and quality processes

Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, observability,



and automated testing

Set and monitor SLOs, surfacing metrics to ensure operational excellence

Hands‑On Engineering

Design and build advanced automation solutions for network configuration and management

Develop scalable, cloud‑native applications leveraging AWS services

Write high‑quality Python code for APIs, orchestration, and infrastructure automation

Required Qualifications

Deep understanding of routing, switching, network protocols, and large‑scale network architecture

Expert‑level Python development skills; experience building modular, maintainable systems

Advanced knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, etc.)

Proven experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and reliability engineering

Ability to influence cross‑functional teams, mentor engineers, and drive strategic initiatives

Robust communication skills to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading platform‑level initiatives and setting engineering standards

Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS) and serverless architectures

Background in network automation frameworks and APIs

Passion for continuous learning and driving innovation

Additional Notes Authorization to work in the United States is required for this role.

Compensation & Benefits Package lululemon’s compensation offerings are based on a pay‑for‑performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is $150,000–170,000 annually; base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Permanent employees may be eligible for a competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
