Role Overview We are seeking a senior Platform Developer to help compose and evolve a modern cloud‑native platform with a strong focus on developer experience, reliability, and automation. In this role you will be a senior individual contributor who brings a strong sense of accountability and craftsmanship to everything you build. You will work across Kubernetes, GitOps, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code to deliver platform capabilities while embedding observability, governance, resilience, and cost efficiency by default. You will contribute to core systems such as CI/CD, automation frameworks, and control‑plane services that enable product teams to ship faster and safer. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes ownership for outcomes, and cares deeply about the long‑term quality and operability of what they build.
This is an initial 12‑month contract to start with solid possibility of extension based on program needs.

Responsibilities
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
Serve as a senior‑level individual contributor on the Platform team, demonstrating outstanding technical proficiency across multiple areas of cloud‑native platform development and support.
Implement observability, governance, and automation frameworks to ensure performance, reliability, security, and compliance.
Drive guidelines for GitOps, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and Kubernetes automation.
Ensure systems are resilient, cost‑efficient, and optimized for performance,
while delivering pragmatic, reliable, and maintainable platform capabilities.
Build and support CI/CD pipelines to ensure our developers have a detailed and resilient SDLC.
Contribute to technical direction through design reviews, RFCs, and mentoring.
Participate in operational readiness, incident review, and continuous improvement of the platform.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in platform, cloud infrastructure or SRE roles.
Strong programming experience in Python, Go or C#, preferably including building controllers, operators, or automation systems.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes, controller‑runtime, and Crossplane composition frameworks.
Experience with ArgoCD, Helm, and IaC (Terraform or Crossplane).
Hands‑on experience with GitOps or related workflows dedicated to maintaining system consistency.
Experience supporting or building data infrastructure platforms (e.g., MLOps, ETL pipelines, streaming or batch systems).
Strong grounding in cost efficiency, performance profiling, and system‑level debugging.
Proven track record to take initiative, work autonomously, and drive projects to successful completion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and contribute innovative ideas.
Nice To Have
Contributions to CNCF open‑source projects (Kubernetes, Crossplane, ArgoCD, Prometheus, etc).
Deep expertise in Kubernetes API machinery, CRDs, and control plane development.
Experience running platforms on a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Familiarity with Kubernetes scheduling and projects like Karpenter.
Proven grasp of observability and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
BSc or equivalent experience, or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or transferrable practical experience is preferred.
