Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Principal Software Engineer who is still actively coding, drawn to innovation, evolving tech stacks, and the impact of AI on development.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys leading and mentoring a team while remaining technically hands‑on, with a strong foundation in C# / .NET and the ability to operate beyond a single stack.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, setting explicit expectations and raising performance
- Remain actively hands‑on in coding while contributing to architecture and system design
- Own and influence technical direction, balancing speed, scalability, and long‑term maintainability
- Drive change management across engineering practices, team structure, and delivery processes
- Identify and implement process improvements across the SDLC (Agile delivery, sprint execution, code quality, release cycles)
- Operate effectively within a stack‑agnostic environment, adapting to evolving technologies and tools
- Integrate and advance AI‑informed development practices where relevant
- Partner cross‑functionally with product, operations, and leadership to align engineering output with business priorities
- Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable direction for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team growth,



contributing to long‑term capability building
- Establish and reinforce engineering standards, including code quality, testing, and performance expectations
- Contribute to system reliability, scalability, and production stability, including troubleshooting where required

Qualifications

- Actively coding and contributing to architecture in your current role
- Currently leading a team
- Strong understanding of AI‑influenced development environments
- Strong foundation in C# / .NET
- Comfortable working across multiple technologies (stack‑agnostic)
- Compelling communicator able to guide and support development teams effectively
- Clear understanding of SaaS business models and product environments
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Interview Process

- Candidates should expect a live coding assessment
- Final stage includes an onsite interview in Ottawa
