The role reports to the Project Manager or the Control, Automation and Electrical Lead Engineer and includes on‑site commissioning and office‑based design responsibilities.About the RoleOn‑Site:Independently execute all commission activities.Take ownership of project tasks to ensure timely completion with minimal supervision.Troubleshoot and resolve issues.Collaborate with clients and contractors.Guide the work of others, including contractor staff.Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing.Office‑Based:Assist with project delivery regarding scope, cost, and schedule.Prepare technical documentation required for execution, subject to approval by the Control, Automation and Electrical Lead Engineer.Manage and coordinate engineering work progress per scope, schedule, and procedures.Review shop drawings for conformity with designs.Monitor fabrication and construction after contracts and purchase orders are awarded.Witness FAT and implement corrective actions as required.Review quality audit outcomes and perform remedial work per quality assurance plan.Ensure documentation and interdisciplinary coordination per procedures.Prepare draft monthly engineering progress reports for the monthly report.Provide monthly updates on engineering work-packet progress.Compile functional control specifications and program control systems.About YouBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.7+ years of project engineering experience, including 2–3 years of commissioning.Experience in electrical design/consultancy in large or multi‑disciplinary projects.Registered as a professional engineer with PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario).Hands‑on site experience, able to work independently.Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and resolve issues.Initiative and teamwork skills.PLC/DCS programming experience (Rockwell preferred; DeltaV and ABB assets).Knowledge of 3D data‑centric design systems (e.G., Smart Plant Electrical, Smart Plant Instrumentation).Recent experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation.Ability to delegate tasks and supervise others.Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.Safety awareness.Willingness to travel.Base salary range:$120,000 – $160,000At Hatch we are committed to fair and equitable compensation and comply with pay‑transparency requirements.Beyond base pay, our total rewards package includes performance incentives, perks, and other programs to support your well‑being and growth.Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions.Hatch encourages applicants who do not meet all requirements to apply, as we value diverse experiences.Hatch is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
