Join our team as a Senior Payroll Consultant and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of payroll and benefits management for our clients! This full-time role is designed for a proactive consultant who thrives on collaboration, communication, and creating streamlined processes. You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely while living in any of the vibrant Provinces with the opportunity to travel to support client projects.
Role Overview The Senior Payroll Consultant plays a pivotal role in providing expert advice and support in Payroll, Tax, Human Resources, and Benefits administration. This position requires a strong focus on client advisory, leveraging subject matter expertise to drive customer success and strengthen partner relationships. The Senior Payroll Consultant is responsible for leading payroll processing support, documentation development, identifying and implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
Cross‑functional collaboration with the business development team is required to align client expectations with service deliverables and work to resolve client relations issues effectively.
What You’ll Do:
Lead full‑cycle Canadian and U.S. payroll administration and processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Identify and implement process improvements through your expertise, interviews, and detailed analysis
Support client audits, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance
Support system upgrades, consolidations, data migrations, and implementations
Align client operations with federal, provincial, and territorial regulations
Collaborate with senior management, escalating concerns when needed
Deliver training and develop key internal documentation
Provide clear and actionable recommendations to enhance client operations
Qualifications
Expertise: 7+ years of payroll experience and a strong grasp of best practices
Leadership: Proven ability to manage staff, teams, or complex projects
Tech‑Savvy: Experience with payroll systems (strong preference for Dayforce and/or UKG) and strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge: Payroll tax and human resources experience are strong assets
Certification: Canadian Payroll Association certification (PCP or CPM) or equivalent experience.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. French/English bilingualism is required
Adaptability: Ability to travel as needed and lift/move materials up to 50 pounds when traveling
