The role offers the opportunity to directly influence product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction through data‑driven test engineering excellence.How You Will Make An ImpactSupport volume manufacturing by debugging, maintaining, and enhancing automated test systems for optical componentsDrive capital efficiency through test time reduction, yield improvement, and optimization of test strategiesEnhance fault isolation and troubleshooting capabilities to improve manufacturing and field issue resolutionSupport failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective action implementation for components, sub‑systems, and field returnsEnable successful new product introduction through testing of prototype, pre‑production, and pilot builds at manufacturing partnersLead test system replication, transfer, bring‑up, and ongoing support at partner manufacturing sitesThe Must Haves5+ years of experience developing automated test systems and software for production environmentsDemonstrated expertise in optical or high‑speed electronic test system developmentExpert‑level programming skills for automated test environments (ATE)Strong understanding of optical component testing and manufacturing processesBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical disciplineProven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional and external partner teamsStrong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills with a clear sense of accountabilityNice To HavesHands‑on experience with MATLAB and National Instruments test toolsExtensive test equipment control and automation experienceBackground supporting test activities across global manufacturing partnersExperience driving yield improvement initiatives using data analyticsExposure to failure analysis of optical components and sub‑systemsPay RangeThe annual pay range for this position is $94,100 - $150,300Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.Non‑Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
