Hardware Engineer / Hardware Designer

Location: Gatineau, QC - hybrid: 3 days on site per week (free parking available)

Salary: $110,000 - $124,000 per year

Travel: Occasional travel to the U.S. (covered)

Overview

We are seeking a talented Hardware Designer to join our System Engineering team within the telecommunications space. You will design, evaluate, implement, and integrate electronic systems and components into advanced call handling solutions. This is a hands‑on role requiring both technical expertise and creativity to deliver complex telecommunications systems.

Vous serez chargé de concevoir, d'évaluer, de mettre en œuvre et d'intégrer des systèmes et des composants électroniques dans des solutions avancées de gestion des appels. Il s'agit d'un poste pratique qui nécessite à la fois une expertise technique et de la créativité pour fournir des systèmes de télécommunications complexes.

Key Responsibilities

- Participate in all phases of product development: design, simulation, prototyping, testing, and production release.
- Conduct design verification, regulatory testing, and documentation.




- Handle mechanical, reliability, integrity, and compliance aspects of hardware designs.
- Interpret requirements, evaluate components, and ensure interoperability.
- Contribute to system architecture design and assist with product prototyping.
- Integrate, test, and troubleshoot embedded systems including custom hardware and RTOS.
- Develop software for communications equipment on Windows Operating Systems.
- Analyze and resolve complex multi‑component problems.
- Provide technical leadership and ownership of assigned design work.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years in a similar hardware design role, including product lifecycle management.
- Experience designing electronic circuits and working with IP/network protocols.
- Knowledge of RTOS and embedded systems is a plus.
- Robust interest in real‑time programming, communication protocols, and client‑server systems.
- Excellent understanding of hardware development and product lifecycle.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
