The Vice President, Financial Accounting and Disclosure is responsible for the production and disclosure of financial and regulatory information, as well as for the quality and integrity of the Bank’s financial statements. Through robust leadership in financial disclosure and regulatory relations, this role has a decisive impact on the Bank’s reputation, investor confidence, and long‑term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Disclosure and Regulatory Reporting:
Lead all external financial disclosure activities, including the annual report, quarterly shareholder reports, earnings releases, supplemental financial information, and Pillar 3 (capital) disclosures.
Oversee internal financial disclosure to senior management, the Audit Committee, the Board of Directors of the Bank, and certain subsidiaries.
Implement and maintain robust controls and governance over financial and regulatory disclosure.
Financial Statements and Financial Analysis:
Ensure the production and integrity of the Bank’s consolidated financial statements.
Oversee the consolidation of audited subsidiaries, including trusts, insurance subsidiaries, and the pension plan.
Ensure rigorous monitoring and ongoing analysis of consolidated financial results.
Oversee disclosures related to credit loss provisions (IFRS 9), at both the consolidated and business segment levels, and play a key role in expert judgment related to provisioning.
Provide senior management with strategic financial analyses to support decision‑making.
Contribute to financial analyses related to strategic transactions, including acquisition and growth initiatives.
Governance, Compliance and External Relations:
Represent the Bank with regulatory authorities on disclosure matters and actively participate in relevant industry committees.
Maintain a proactive watch on accounting and regulatory standards and recommend required adjustments to the Bank’s disclosure practices and frameworks.
Oversee relationships with external auditors for the Bank and subsidiaries under the role’s responsibility.
Leadership, Management and Transformation:
Lead and develop large‑scale teams (approximately 50 employees), fostering a culture of performance, rigor, compliance, and collaboration.
Establish key performance indicators and drive continuous optimization of financial and disclosure processes.
Influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and comparability with industry peers.
Contribute to the evolution of practices, processes, and systems (innovation, best practices, continuous improvement) to simplify and secure financial operations.
Profile
Recognized accounting designation and over 20 years of experience in financial accounting, disclosure, and regulatory reporting.
Significant experience managing large teams (more than 10 years).
Required experience in financial disclosure for a public company, including financial statements and strong expertise in accounting standards.
Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with a focus on innovation, process optimization, and alignment with leading market practices.
Experience in the banking industry is considered a strong asset.
Strong, mobilizing leadership, high influencing capability, and the ability to communicate with impact at all levels of the organization.
