Position Summary The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading the HR department and the overall human resources policies of the organization, developing organizational culture, and aligning HR strategies with business goals to drive growth and employee engagement. The responsibilities for this senior role include leading strategic people initiatives, ensuring compliance with provincial legislation (ESA, OHSA, AODA, Pay Equity) and actively participating in recruitment, compensation, benefits, labour relations, and talent management.
Compensation and Benefits
Permanent, Full-time (40 working hours per week)
Salary range of $100,000 to $150,000 CAD per year depending on qualifications, education and experience

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR strategies (talent, compensation, performance) aligned with corporate goals. Oversee the consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and operational practices across Canadian locations, meeting federal and provincial legal and regulatory requirements.
Regularly ensure full compliance with Ontario, Alberta and Quebec employment laws and legislation, including the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), AODA, Pay Equity Act, Alberta Human Rights Act, Employment Standards Code, CNESST and the Act respecting labour standards.
Oversee and actively participate in all levels of recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract top talent.
Provide leadership and oversight for all leave‑of‑absence programs, including WSIB, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, medical and non‑medical absences, and return‑to‑work coordination, ensuring compliance with legislation and organizational policies.
Leads and manages involuntary and voluntary separation procedures in alignment with policy and employment law.
Advise managers on employee relations and performance management. Conduct investigations,
conflict resolution, legal liaison and risk management while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Oversee and collaborate with payroll, benefits, pension programs, and compensation structures.
Lead performance management processes, training, and succession planning.
Report on key metrics and workforce analytics.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) or Executive (CHRE) designation.
10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Deep knowledge of Ontario and Canadian employment law.
Payroll experience an asset.
Health & Safety experience an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with UKG Workforce Pro and/or Dayforce an asset.
Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, in office
Language Requirements
French language an asset but not required
Location & Work Arrangement
Candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate prior to starting
Occasional travel to our other locations in Ontario (Kitchener), Alberta and Quebec is expected.
