Qualifications Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

2–3 years of estimating experience, preferably in commercial/industrial or residential construction.

Experience with estimating packages, take‑off packages, scheduling packages, databases, spreadsheets, AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, QuickBooks, MS PowerPoint, Xactimate.

On‑site work required; no work from home option.

Responsibilities

Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.

Prepare pre‑qualification submissions to present to clients.

Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.

Prepare master format estimates (Class A).

Operate CADD and other computer software systems.

Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.

Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bid forms.

Utilize quantity take‑off procedures.

Advise on tendering procedures.

Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.





Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.

Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
