Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Manager, Finance plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily accounting operations while guiding a high‑performing team through coaching, mentorship, and structured development. The Manager will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development. This role is critical in driving transformation across our finance function, with a strong focus on automation, systems implementation, process optimization, and team development to support the organization’s continued growth.

We’re seeking a strategic finance leader with a CPA designation, solid accounting expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.

*Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire a high-performing accounting team, supporting professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and tailored development plans

Takes a hands‑on role in managing core finance and accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliation, and Accounts Payable/Receivable processes.

Oversee daily cash management activities, including bank transactions, deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers,



premium applications, and management of banking relationships.

Assist with tax related inquiries and verify the accuracy of financial reports and tax calculations generated from proprietary systems.

Drive the identification and implementation of process automation and optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency and support scalable growth. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lead transformative change.

Collaborate cross functionally and manage internal and external resources to ensure alignment and optimal performance.

Coordinate with auditors and oversee the preparation and review of required audit documentation.

Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director, Finance to support evolving departmental needs.

Qualifications

CPA designation required, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience

Minimum of 5 years in a direct people leadership role, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams

Demonstrated success in finance transformation initiatives, including systems implementation and automation projects

Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience managing cross‑functional relationships

The ability to influence others, create alignment, generate commitment to goals and inspire others to action while managing diverse stakeholder groups and multiple change initiatives

Proficiency in process improvement methodologies and advanced Excel skills

Insurance industry experience is a significant asset
