NVA Canada’s VT Practicum Program offers final-year veterinary technician students the chance to gain real-world experience in a supportive, dynamic environment. Work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs to develop your clinical skills in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology and more. Enhance your communication abilities with medical teams and clients, preparing you for a successful career as an RVT. Practicums range from two to eight weeks, fitting your schedule and career goals. Eligible students—those enrolled in an accredited VT program in Canada and completing their final practicum in their final year—can receive a stipend to help with travel expenses, allowing you to focus on learning without financial worries. Qualifications

- Enrolled in an accredited veterinary technology program in Canada
- Final-year student completing practicum in their final year
- Available for a practicum ranging from two to eight weeks
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a veterinary healthcare team

Responsibilities

- Assist veterinarians and RVTs in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, and radiology
- Support effective communication with medical teams and clients
- Engage in hands-on learning experiences in a clinical setting

Compensation
