Schedule: M-F, core business hours – 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day

Overview

We are seeking a GenAI Engineer to lead the design and development of a large language model (LLM) assistant supporting insurance sales advisors. This role combines deep technical expertise in Generative AI with strong business alignment, focusing on building scalable, production-grade solutions. You will architect GenAI pipelines, drive model evaluation and prompt engineering, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver impactful AI-driven capabilities.

Core Technical Skills

Required

- Hands-on experience with LLM platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama)
- Strong expertise in:
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Vector databases & embeddings
- Model evaluation frameworks
- Proficiency in Python and building scalable data/ML pipelines
- Experience with cloud-native architectures (Azure preferred)
- Proven track record deploying GenAI/LLM solutions in production (MLOps / GenAI Ops)
- Experience designing microservices and integrating with enterprise systems

Preferred

- Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with data platforms, knowledge bases, and ingestion pipelines
- Experience with BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- SQL and data modeling expertise (relational & NoSQL systems)

Nice to Have





- Knowledge of classical ML methods (regression, clustering, tree-based models)
- Experience with Hadoop or large-scale distributed data systems
- Exposure to change management and enterprise AI adoption strategies

Key Responsibilities

- Architect and implement LLM-based solutions including RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, and embeddings
- Build and scale GenAI microservices integrated with internal platforms
- Lead prompt engineering, agent design, and safety/guardrail implementation
- Evaluate open-source and commercial models across performance, risk, and cost
- Collaborate with data teams to prepare training datasets and knowledge bases
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory frameworks
- Maintain and optimize data ingestion pipelines and knowledge base refresh cycles
- Define metrics and implement closed-loop evaluation systems for continuous improvement
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Present insights, model performance, and business impact to senior leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices
