Operations Engineer | Contract | Alberta (On-Site) Please Read carefully before applyingWe’re working with a major oil & gas client on an upcoming turnaround and are looking to bring on an experiencedOperations Engineerto support the team.This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be working closely with planners, coordinators, and site teams to manage and drive the schedule through execution.Start date:ASAP, with 40-hour work week.Duration:6 months contract (Independent contractor).Location:Empress 6 gas plantSchedule:9/80 or 4/10Monday–Thursday: At siteFriday: WFHThis role is a hands‑on Operations (Mechanical) Engineer position supporting Turnarounds (TA) primarily, with additional support across ongoing operations and capital/projects as needed. The engineer will work closely with field teams in an aging but reliable gas processing facility.ResponsibilitiesProvide mechanical engineering support to plant operations and TA activitiesSupport field‑based MOCs, process improvements, and operational troubleshootingWork with mechanical systems including, Piping systems, Pressure equipment, Rotary equipment, Materials and corrosion considerationsAssist in preparing work packages for executionEngage daily with operators, maintenance personnel,
and TA teams to solve field issuesTake full ownership of deliverables with a focus on quality, timeliness, and accountabilityQualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringP.Eng. (APEGA): Ideally within a couple of months of obtaining4–10 years of experience (ideal target ~5 years)Not entry‑level; candidate must be able to operate independentlyOperations Engineering experience requiredStrong field experience in oil & gas or industrial facilitiesWorking knowledge of ABSA, AER, ASME CodesExperience working in Gas plants and/or Fractionation facilities is an assetStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with operations, maintenance, and TA teamsStrong cultural fit is essential, team values ownership, diligence, and a positive attitudeTurnaround (TA) experience is an assetResourceful and comfortable working with limited drawings or incomplete informationStrong ownership mentality, delivers work on time and to a high standardEager to learn and grow long-termEnjoys problem‑solving and working closely with field personnelTeam‑oriented and a cultural fit for a small, tight‑knit, community‑driven siteWilling to put in extra effort when required (straight‑time OT)#J-18808-Ljbffr
