Our client is undergoing a large scale controls transformation initiative focused on strengthening and standardizing the internal control environment. The organization is multinational, with leading centers in Canada, US and UK&I.; This role would focus primarily on the Canada and US regions.
Contract Details:

Project Overview:
The program includes:
- IT and business control uplift activities
- Tooling and system transformations
- Complex control design and redesign initiatives
- Governance and operating model changes at a program level
- Development of standardized templates and methodologies to improve program stability and consistency
- Process redesigns to support audit readiness and sustainable control operation
The engagement is highly advisory in nature, with the team working closely alongside management to:
- Help steer and coordinate program activities
- Provide subject matter expertise on control design and leading practices
- Support technical execution areas where internal capability does not exist
- The program spans multiple workstreams and stakeholders and requires strong coordination to ensure alignment to a common end state while addressing stream specific needs.
Required Skills and Experience
Technical / Functional:
- Strong knowledge of IT General Controls, ITACs, and IPE design and operation.
- Deep familiarity with auditing and internal control standards, including: COSO, COBIT, SOX,N1 52 109, NIST
- Experience offering guidance in designing controls that meet external audit and regulatory expectations.
- Prior experience supporting large scale transformation initiatives, including compliance driven programs (e.g., SOX, ICFR, regulatory uplift) or similar control focused transformations.
- Ability to assess control effectiveness from both a design and operational perspective.
- Comfort working in environments transitioning toward more formalized and scalable control frameworks.
Leadership & Delivery:
- Proven experience leading teams and workstreams in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Ability to provide direction, review work, and coach more junior team members.
- Strong program delivery skills across complex, multi stream initiatives.
Stakeholder Management:
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments with changing requirements to align program initiatives with strategic targets.
- Able to balance advisory guidance with hands on execution when needed.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non technical stakeholders.
Additional Inferred Capabilities (Nice to Have / Often Required):
- Experience in large transformation or uplift programs, preferably in regulated industries.
- Robust judgment and pragmatism when balancing leading practices with operational feasibility.
- Experience developing reusable templates, methodologies, or standards.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a quick moving advisory environment.
