Overview
AET Group is currently seeking an experienced
Team Lead, Waste Audits
to support and coordinate waste audit teams in the field. This role is field based and involves regular travel across Ontario and throughout Canada. You will lead waste audit activities, direct and support Waste Auditors, and serve as the primary on site contact for Project Managers. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our growth, working on diverse waste projects across Canada, including municipal and ICI waste studies and reduction strategies, material recovery facility commissioning, optimization and quality studies, litter studies, food waste studies, EPR, Circular Economy, and waste reduction planning. Hours vary based on project demands. Early mornings, occasional weekend work and overnight travel may be required. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys travel, being hands on, thrives in fast-paced field environments, and brings strong leadership capability along with a passion for environmental work. Compensation:
This position offers an expected salary range of $55,000 – $62,000.Placement within the range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Approximately 75 percent of your time will involve fieldwork: Lead and participate in onsite waste audits following AET protocols and client requirements. Collect, sort, weigh and characterize waste materials safely and accurately. Support audits across residential (curbside and multi-residential), industrial, commercial, institutional, depots, landfills and material recovery facilities. In addition you will: Act as the on-site lead and primary contact for Project Managers. Coordinate and motivate waste audit team members. Project planning and preparation including project materials, PPE and equipment prior to audit start. Oversee site setup and logistics ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Complete data entry and verify data accuracy. Assist with preliminary data review and audit summaries. Support quality assurance tasks,
special projects and field coordination needs. Qualifications

1-2 years of waste audit or field operations experience is preferred. Degree or Diploma in Environmental Studies or related field with an interest in waste management is preferred. Certified EP with waste specialization is an asset. Prior waste or recycling audit experience is an asset. Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Teams is required. Experience driving a truck and pulling a cargo trailer is preferred. Skills and Attributes

Licences and Travel
Valid Ontario G licence with clean drivers abstract. Ability to travel within Ontario and throughout Canada. Comfort with early mornings, overnight travel and weekend work when required. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms. Standing, walking, twisting and handling materials for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions. Personal Protective Equipment
AET provides half mask respirator, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, reflective vest, coveralls.
CSA approved safety boots are required to be provided by candidate and safety boot reimbursement is available after successful completion of 3-month probationary period.
