Director of Operations Location: Grand Rapids, MI, US, 49503Work Arrangement: OnsitePosition Summary Reporting to the site General Manager, the Director of Operations will manage daily production, inventory, and logistics to ensure safe, efficient, cost‑effective, and timely delivery to customers. The role oversees strategy, growth, and profitability targets for the facility, maintaining safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, and lean objectives. Additional responsibilities include plant management, manufacturing operations, supply chain, capital equipment, facilities planning, workforce development, and operations strategy deployment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage business to achieve/exceed growth, revenue, and operating income objectives.Oversee end‑to‑end supply chain partnerships, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.Ensure products meet profitability goals.Establish strategic direction, performance metrics, standards, and measurements for direct reports and the operation as a whole that support safety, quality, and delivery expectations.Set operational goals and objectives, guiding teams to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.Partner with internal stakeholders to manage the P&L and continuously execute to achieve revenue and margin commitments.Provide support and leadership to the supply chain, production planning, manufacturing, and continuous improvement teams, including supporting S&OP process and planning manufacturing capacity.Identify and respond to market trends, anticipating strategies to stay ahead of cost and quality curves.Plan and execute a best‑in‑class supply chain to ensure appropriate inventory levels, inventory turns, supplier quality,



and cost.Direct the continuous improvement program and support onsite initiatives to achieve desired results.Ensure products are delivered on time and meet all customer expectations regarding quality and performance.Plan and implement capital improvements for the site and operations.Work proactively with and engage functional counterparts to ensure overall organizational success and continuity of leadership.Partner with union leadership to maintain compliance with the collective bargaining agreement while supporting operational goals.Foster a positive employee relations environment, building a culture where employees are motivated and engaged in continuous improvement.Conduct performance evaluations, coach and mentor staff, provide feedback, and take action as needed to build a high‑performing department.Embody the company’s ethics and values; maintain the highest corporate governance principles.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or a related field is required.MBA or Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.Minimum of 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or other operational leadership roles.Experience in a build‑to‑order/high‑mix manufacturing environment required.Proven background in production/inventory control, procurement procedures, and logistics.Robust strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop long‑term strategic plans and execute action plans.Leadership experience with ability to motivate teams and drive accountability.Solid verbal and written communication skills, able to influence at all levels of the organization.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, genetic information, or any other factors prohibited by law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
