Java Developer

to join their

Client Data Migration

team on a

fully remote

basis within

Canada . In this impactful role, you’ll play a key part in guiding sellers and small business owners through the secure migration of payment data, ensuring smooth transitions and ongoing business continuity. This is an exciting opportunity for backend development professionals who love blending strong Java engineering expertise with customer communication, problem solving, and directly impacting client success.

This exciting opportunity begins as a

9-month T4 or IC contract

offering 40 hours per week, a

100% remote

schedule within Canada, and the strong possibility for

extension

or

conversion !

Responsibilities

Coordinate and execute secure card-on-file data migrations from external providers to the organization’s platform using Java-based tools

Serve as a direct liaison

between clients and third-party processors, effectively managing multiple migration projects concurrently

Continuously refine, troubleshoot, and enhance internal migration tools through coding in

Java , pull requests, GitHub merges, and rigorous testing





Collaborate with engineering partners to resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth integration with larger platform solutions

Research, design, and help prototype innovative migration solutions and tools to address evolving client requirements and internal process improvements

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable experience in a technical discipline required

Professional experience as a

Java developer , with strong skills in backend or full stack development (other languages an asset, but must have hands-on Java)

Experience with

RESTful APIs, JSON , and third-party

data integrations

Confident communicator

able to interact with clients, processors, and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and resolve migration challenges

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability; comfortable working in a shared codebase environment using

GitHub

for merges and collaboration

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a energetic environment with strong attention to data security, accuracy, and process quality

Adaptable, proactive, and interested in building tools from the ground up as business needs evolve

Experience involving full project lifecycles (design, implementation, and production support) is a plus
