Contract Specialist
Our client, an office furniture manufacturer located in the west end is looking to add a Contract Specialist to their team. This position is full time, permanent and the salary is $65,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a one year contract with the potential to go permanent!
Position Summary:
- The Contract Specialist has overall responsibility to both manage and optimize contracts and to achieve objectives guided by the leadership of the Company. In collaboration with Customer Service and Marketing, the Contract Specialist is committed to assuring total customer commitment and satisfaction. This position is accountable to the Director of Marketing and Sales for the following outcomes:
- Manage and maintain GSA, VA, State Contracts, and other Sales Contracts (i.e. SSM, HPG, etc.)
- Provide customer support as the primary point of contact with regards to contracts
- Monitor current and new contracts for opportunities in collaboration with Sales to increase profitable business
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Post-Secondary diploma or degree; additional job-related courses, an asset
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience within Customer Service, Sales or Account Management (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
- Demonstrated experience with sales contract submissions and contract management
- Demonstrated ability to express and explain contract details clearly, concisely, and in easily accessible terminology
- A customer-focused individual with demonstrated relationship-building skills
- Clear communication and effective engagement with others that motivates and stretches the individual and team talents to achieve higher levels of competency
- Strong commitment to quality, with the ability to support internal processes using standardized work methods

Specific Outcomes to be Delivered:
Health and Safety
- Work to ensure safe and healthy working conditions and in compliance with health and safety policies. Promote a health and safety culture.
Collaboration
- Build and sustain a collaborative and trusting relationship with all departments within the organization. Actively support the leadership in achieving strategic priorities and executing business plans.
Customer Service
- Ensure the highest level of customer service is consistently provided in all interactions within the organization.
- Manage GSA, VA, State, and Other Sales Contracts
- Effectively submit needed documentation to support price adjustments, dealer adjustments and renewals
- Complete full RFP process, including developing pricing structure and terms and conditions upon contract renewals (in collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Sales)
- Ensure up-to-date information is available internally and externally at all times, including Customer Service files and contracts calendar
- Review all Contracts for accuracy with the support the of the Customer Service team.
Compliance & Reporting
- Lead annual filing and modification updates as required. Report on contract sales as required monthly, quarterly & annually
Contract Optimization
- Build relationships with Contract Customers, and act as a single point of contact
- Work with Customer Service and Marketing to provide pricing on RFPs and involve local representatives in selecting dealers
- Partner with the sales team to determine and exploit new contract opportunities to bring profitable business to the company.
