Trade Union Project Officer

About The Role

London-based contract with the option of hybrid working between the office and home. Full-time, 35 hours per week. Fixed term contract for 12 months.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is seeking a Trade Union Project Officer to help strengthen our organising, bargaining and employment relations work across the UK. In this role you will use your research, communication and analytical skills to make a real difference to the working lives of physiotherapy staff.

You will:

- Ensure reps and members receive high‑quality, accessible and timely information on employment and trade union matters.
- Develop, draft and update a wide range of resources – briefings, reports, guidance, consultation responses and content for print and digital channels.
- Support bargaining and negotiation at local, regional, country and UK levels, sourcing and analysing quantitative and qualitative information.
- Lead and support discrete project work, providing expertise and backfill as needed, contributing to the wider programme of work across the directorate.

Working arrangements

- Hybrid working model without a fixed office day requirement; employees must attend office for in‑person meetings when required.




- Adaptable working arrangements available (part-time, job share, compressed hours, adjusted start/finish times). Discussion of alternatives is welcomed on a case‑by‑case basis.
