Job Description

Victoria College Program: Creativity & Society

CRE349H1F Special Topics in Creativity and Society: Literary Adaptation – A course exploring the aesthetic, creative, and narratological dimensions of adapting novels for film and television. How are literary texts adapted for image‑based media? How do the constraints and affordances of visual storytelling transform literary source material?

Expected course time : Thursday, 1-3pm

Enrolment cap : 25

Dates of appointment : September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026

Course Modality : In‑person, Victoria College campus

Teaching Assistant : There is no TA support

The salary will be as per the CUPE agreement (e.g., September 2026 Sessional Lecturer rate is $9,997.47 including vacation pay).

Requirements

- PhD, MA, MFA, or other post‑graduate degree in literature
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Extensive industry experience, as evidenced by leadership positions in major arts organizations preferred
