We’re looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who doesn’t just crunch numbers but brings them to life—someone who can zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to find that missing $27.15. If you’re someone who thrives in mission-driven environments, isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves, and wants to help build financial systems that serve real people—not just spreadsheets—this is your opportunity.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, strategic thinker with a heart for community work and a strong desire to build and improve financial operations from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and manage multi-year financial models to support strategic planning.
- Conduct scenario analysis to support funding decisions, program expansions, and risk mitigation.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating closely with department leads and program staff.
- Monitor performance against budgets, providing timely variance analysis and recommendations.
Reporting & Decision Support
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership, board members, and funders.
- Translate financial data into clear insights to guide organizational decisions.
Operational Finance
- Assist with and oversee day-to-day accounting processes: reconciliations, expense tracking, grant reporting, payroll.
- Work hands‑on with QuickBooks or similar accounting tools to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Grants, Compliance & Audit
- Prepare and track grant budgets and reporting requirements.
- Support audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
Process Improvement
- Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems, workflows, and policies.
- Introduce automation or simplification where possible to reduce manual overhead.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A;, or nonprofit finance.
- CPA or MBA preferred (or in progress); experience with nonprofit or social enterprise accounting a strong asset.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling skills.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Wagepoint or similar).
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, resource‑constrained environment.
- A willingness to get into the weeds—no task too big or too small.
- Deep commitment to social justice, community service, and Seva’s mission.
What We Offer:
- A purpose‑driven culture where your work has real impact.
- Flexible work environment and schedule.
- Opportunity to help shape financial systems and practices during a period of exciting growth.
- Being part of a team that values service, integrity, and humility.
