ThinkOn is expanding its Architecture team!

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Technical Architect role is to operate as the key technical architect supporting the Engineer, Operations, and Product teams for designing and improving ThinkOn’s service infrastructure. This role will be responsible for architectural ownership of solution design and configuration with the Product and Engineering teams. The Technical Architect will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions and outcomes for ThinkOn’s customer base that leverage the standard services offered. The Technical Architect must be capable of leading and coordinating a team of internal and external resources and will be recognized as an expert in ThinkOn products, services, and practices. The role will be responsible for reviewing the current technical backlog and providing design changes to align with ThinkOn’s vision. The Technical Architect will help design and maintain the standard deployment of new and existing services and solutions.

Please note that this is a 12-month full time contract position with the possibility of transitioning to full-time permanent.

You Will:

Serve as the subject matter expert on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9), VMware VKS, and modernization strategy, guiding ThinkOn’s transformation initiatives across infrastructure and cloud platforms.

Lead design, implementation, and optimization of VCF 9-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Lead design, implementation, and optimization of VKS9-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Partner with Engineering and Product teams to evaluate emerging VMware technologies(vSANESA, NSX+, Aria, Tanzu, VKS, Kubernetes, PAIF, etc.) and create proof-of-concept (POC) plans that align with modernization goals.

Act as the technical leader providing strategic direction for Engineering and Operations to deploy and optimize modernized VCF environments and related hybrid cloud services.

Serve as the technical bridge between Product, Vendors, and Engineering to ensure modern VMware-based solutions are well-architected, accurately scoped, and fully executable.

Design and architect cloud-centric solutions leveraging VCF 9 capabilities for automation, lifecycle management, and Kubernetes integration.





Enable business growth by helping Product teams define and deliver high-value modernization and cloud migration offerings.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with VMware and key ecosystem partners , ensuring ThinkOn has early access to roadmap updates and technical enablement.

Own and continuously refine the infrastructure modernization roadmap, identifying opportunities to automate, simplify, and enhance operational efficiency using VMware technologies.

Collaborate with Product Management to bring new VCF-based services to market and support the lifecycle of existing offerings.

Work with the Project Management Office to transition architectural designs into implementation plans with complete technical documentation.

Deliver technical training and enablement sessions for Engineering, Operations, and partner teams on modern VMware Cloud Foundation and hybrid cloud practices.

Represent ThinkOn’s modernization strategy at industry events and internal briefings, providing thought leadership on VMware ecosystem technologies.

Identify and drive opportunities to modernize legacy infrastructure, enhance platform reliability, and support automation through Infrastructure-as-Code and API-driven architectures.

Help grow and mentor a modernization-focused Architecture team, fostering innovation and technical excellence.

You Have:

Expert-level knowledge of VMware technologies, including Cloud Foundation (VCF 9), vSphere 8& 9, NSX+,vSANESA,VKS, PAIFand Aria Suite.

Experience with modernization and hybrid cloud strategies, including automation, lifecycle management, and containerization (Tanzu, Kubernetes).

Expertise in Platform services and working knowledge of LlinuxOS and systems

Strong infrastructure expertise across compute, network, and storage, with practical experience integrating VCF with SAN/NAS solutions.

Proven ability to architect and scale enterprise-grade cloud environments using VMware and complementary technologies.

Solid grasp of object storage, backup, and archiving architectures supporting modern workloads.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex modernization strategies into actionable plans for cross-functional teams.

Experience leadingPOCs, technical workshops, and vendor roadmap discussions to drive continuous improvement.
