Role Information Role Type: Internship/Co-op – Work Term: Fall / Term 1 – Work Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Hours: 37.5 per week – Pay: $45,700–$74,400 CAD.
Responsibilities
Validate all models deemed in-scope by the bank-wide Model Risk Policy, including models used for projecting RWA capital, stress testing, and retail product analytics.
Prepare detailed reports describing the mathematical analytics of each model, validation techniques employed, test results obtained, and any model limitations noted.
Establish and maintain productive working relations with internal model development groups such as US and CAD Retail Model Development, Financial Stress Testing (FST), and external vendors who have developed customized models for TD.
Identify the need to implement recent models or techniques for risk management as industry standards evolve and regulatory requirements change.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in statistics, economics, finance, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Must intend to return to school at the start of the work term (co‑op requirement).
Strong statistical background and excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Hands‑on experience with relevant programming languages, such as Python.
Knowledge of retail banking products, customer behaviours, and macroeconomic impacts is an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good time‑management and multi‑tasking skills.
Quick learner who grasps new concepts and techniques swiftly.
Strong teamwork abilities.

This position is a 4‑month work term and will commence September – December 2022.
