AIMCo has the responsibility of ensuring prosperity, security, and opportunity across generations of Albertans. The Investment Risk Management team is responsible for independently identifying, analyzing, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the investment and non‑investment risks associated with AIMCo’s investment portfolios. The Public Equities Investment Risk Management team is responsible for supporting AIMCo’s senior leadership with analytics and advice on AIMCo’s Public Equities asset class and supporting the CIO and the portfolio managers with optimizing the balance of risk and return within the investment portfolios by providing information, quantitative tools and advice. Note: This is a 4‑month, full‑time term from May 2026 through August 2026. Job Posting Expiry

Monitor and assess changes in the risk profiles of Public Equities strategies using daily risk reports Conduct risk assessments on recent or existing Public Equities strategies Develop working knowledge of AIMCo’s portfolio and strategies to assist risk analysis, monitoring changes in portfolio risk profile Enhance existing risk reports and create new risk reporting processes via programming languages such as Python or R Collaborate with other Investment Risk Management teams to provide Public Equities risk insight in the context of other asset classes or the AIMCo Total Fund Collaborate with colleagues across Risk Management to assess risk measurement methodologies and identify enhancements in risk measurement Ideal Candidate Qualifications





Undergraduate or Master student enrolled in Business or Quantitative programs (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) Proficiency with programming language (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, SQL) is desired Keen interest in the financial markets and good knowledge of finance, statistics, and risk concepts Exceptional attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others Success Measures

Your success in the role will rely on your ability to finish tasks independently and support various risk projects. You will finely‑tune your attention to detail as the results of your work will be client‑facing. Your enthusiasm and passion for learning will be supported by the whole Risk Management team.
