Make a difference as a Youth Worker in the Crisis Program. Deliver essential assistance to at-risk youth, supporting their immediate needs and guiding their pathway to independent living.
You will take on a multi-faceted role focused on building rapport with youth, ages 16-24, ensuring their basic needs are met while collaborating with other professionals. This position demands effective communication, quick assessment of situations, and the ability to provide crisis intervention. Additionally, you will coordinate activities, manage case files, and maintain supportive relationships as a core aspect of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and assess youth upon entry to services
• Develop plans for meeting both short and long-term goals
• Facilitate youth meetings and life skills activities
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in social services preferred
• Prior experience in a relevant role is advantageous
• Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies is a plus
• Understanding of mental health and substance use challenges
• Solid interpersonal skills required
