Inside the Role
Perform on-site financial reviews and operational reviews of dealerships and fleet customers for Daimler Truck Financial Services to provide an independent evaluation of the audit subjects’ balance sheet and operations for lending purposes. Audits determine the integrity of financial reporting, the effectiveness of policies and procedures, and the security of Daimler Truck Financial Services' collateral. Provide feedback on potential problem areas such as internal control weaknesses, undercapitalization, and inaccurate financial statements.
What You Drive At DTFS
- Lead and perform on-site Limited Financial Reviews (LFR), Financial Review and Analysis (FRA), and Bank Cut-Off (BCO) audits of dealerships and fleet trucking customers’ balance sheets with emphasis on working capital, net worth, and net cash & vehicle equity, in accordance with GAAP.
- Evaluate accuracy of accounting entries and adequacy of internal control systems, operating policies, and procedures.
- Perform Pledge & Lease Line Audits to evaluate internal controls, policies, procedures, and compliance with DT F loan requirements.
- Prepare audit reports detailing findings and present to internal credit management as well as dealership/fleet management.
- Prepare engagement letters and perform on-site inventory audits.
- Determine overall financial condition of the dealership/fleet customer at the time of the review by confirming net worth and working capital.
- Provide insights into the dealership’s financial activities and attest to the dealership’s ability to meet its outstanding financial obligations, as well as to obtain early warnings of potential problem areas, such as undercapitalization and inaccurate financial statements.
- Participate in department projects and other duties as required.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- BS/BA and 2–4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 1 year of accounting experience; or 2 years of financial audit experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English and French required.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, especially GAAP.
- Ability to collect data, establish facts, and identify trends and variances.
- Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources with varied levels of complexity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Comfortable communicating complex information clearly across diverse audiences.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- 3 years of work experience in Dealer Credit or Fleet Credit.
