About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the structural assessment and refurbishment of access equipment on the boiler stacks at Holyrood Thermal Generating Station , with work primarily based in Holyrood, NL and St. John's, NL . The role includes contractor management, tender support, contract administration, site coordination, and monitoring construction progress.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, plant personnel, and contractors to ensure safe, on-schedule, and compliant project delivery. Certain phases of the role may be performed remotely from St. John's, while active construction phases will require field presence in Holyrood.

The anticipated duration is May to October 2026 , with an estimated effort of 25 hours per week .

Key Responsibilities

- Support tendering activities by reviewing scope, attending meetings, and assisting with proposal evaluations
- Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and safety standards
- Coordinate project activities, including contractor mobilization, orientations, and logistics
- Track schedule progress, monitor deliverables, and communicate risks or delays to stakeholders
- Review and coordinate contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) with engineers and plant representatives
- Ensure all OH&S; and contractor safety documentation is collected and compliant
- Maintain appropriate field presence during active construction in Holyrood,



while performing administrative tasks remotely from St. John's when possible
- Review contractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract terms
- Facilitate project close-out by reviewing documentation, confirming deliverables, and supporting handover processes
- Perform additional coordination and advisory tasks as required, within the scope of the project

Note: The Project Manager's role is strictly coordination, monitoring, and advisory. It does not include directing contractor means, methods, sequencing, or design changes unless explicitly authorized.

Education and Experience Required

- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience delivering industrial or infrastructure projects, including construction, inspection, or maintenance/repair works
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed and in good standing with PEGNL
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Contractor management and performance oversight
- Contract administration
- Schedule development, monitoring, and control

- Robust leadership and communication skills, with fluency in English (oral and written)

Favorable Qualifications:

- Background in Structural or Civil Engineering, or extensive structural project experience
- Experience managing projects involving rope access, extreme heights, or constrained access
- Proven HSE management experience in industrial, utility, or high-hazard environments

- Work locations: Holyrood Thermal Generating Station, Holyrood, NL and St. John's, NL
- Valid Canadian driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract required
- Criminal record check required
- Travel within Newfoundland may be required
