Opportunity UNICEF Canada is seeking a highly organized and delivery-focused Project Manager to drive the coordination, prioritization, and delivery of technology initiatives across the Digital Innovation & Technology team.
The Digital Innovation and Technology team supports UNICEF Canada’s daily operations by ensuring staff have the digital tools, data, and technology platforms required to support fundraising, donor engagement, and internal operations. Reporting to the Director, Marketing Technology & Experience, the Project Manager will coordinate work across the organization’s IT, Data & Insights, Fundraising, Programs, and Marketing Technology teams, ensuring that technology initiatives and operational workstreams are effectively planned, prioritized, and delivered.
This role will also play a key part in implementing and maintaining the Digital Innovation & Technology team’s governance and operating model, helping establish structured project management practices, delivery workflows, and visibility into the team’s portfolio of work. This role plays a critical function in ensuring delivery discipline, accountability, and visibility across all technology initiatives, acting as the central point for planning, prioritization, and execution tracking across CRM, data, digital, and infrastructure workstreams. The successful candidate will bring strong project management experience, familiarity with technology environments, and experience using modern work management tools such as Asana.
Key Accountabilities Technology Project Management (30%)
Manage planning & delivery of technology projects across the Digital Innovation & Technology team.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and task tracking to ensure initiatives progress efficiently and meet agreed objectives.
Coordinate project activities across IT, Data & Intelligence, and Marketing Technology teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration across workstreams.
Identify project risks, dependencies, and resource requirements and support mitigation planning.
Operational Work Coordination (25%)
Coordinate and track ongoing operational workstreams across Digital Innovation & Technology teams, including system enhancements, reporting requests, digital platform updates, and infrastructure initiatives.
Ensure operational work is aligned with strategic priorities and does not conflict with transformation initiatives or resource capacity.
Support the intake, triage, and prioritization of requests submitted by internal stakeholders, particularly the Fundraising and Donor Engagement teams.
Enforce prioritization decisions across teams,
ensuring focus remains on high-impact initiatives and agreed organizational priorities.
Maintain visibility into operational workloads to ensure tasks are appropriately assigned and delivered within expected timelines.
Work with team leads to balance operational support activities with project work.
Identify bottlenecks, competing priorities, and capacity constraints, and work with leadership to rebalance workloads and sequencing.
Governance & Delivery Processes (15%)
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Digital Innovation & Technology team’s governance and operating model.
Operationalize the team’s governance framework, ensuring consistent intake, prioritization, and delivery practices across all workstreams.
Maintain structured workflows and project tracking using tools such as Asana.
Ensure all projects and operational tasks are consistently documented, tracked, and updated within the team’s work management system.
Help refine intake processes, prioritization frameworks, and delivery workflows to improve coordination and transparency.
Ensure adherence to defined delivery standards, including documentation, QA processes, release planning, and change management practices.
Cross-Team Coordination (10%)
Facilitate collaboration between technology teams and internal stakeholders including Fundraising, Donor Engagement & Administration, and other operational teams.
Ensure alignment between business priorities and technology delivery, translating high-level requests into structured, actionable work plans.
Support alignment between technical delivery and business requirements for fundraising campaigns, donor journeys, reporting needs, and digital initiatives.
Facilitate project planning meetings, delivery check-ins, and coordination sessions to ensure initiatives remain on track.
Vendor & Partner Coordination (10%)
Support coordination with external vendors and partners involved in technology initiatives, including vendors supporting CRM systems, data integrations, and digital platforms.
Track vendor deliverables and ensure external work aligns with project timelines and internal priorities.
Assist in managing communications and coordination between internal teams and external partners.
Ensure alignment between business priorities and technology delivery, translating high-level requests into structured, actionable work plans.
Project Reporting (10%)
Maintain project documentation including plans, timelines, and risk logs.
Provide transparent, structured reporting on project status, risks, and delivery performance, enabling leadership to make informed decisions.
Track key milestones, deliverables,
and action items across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Prepare status updates and reporting to provide leadership with visibility into project progress and operational workload.
Provide the Vice President and leadership team with explicit visibility into the full portfolio of initiatives, including progress, risks, capacity, and delivery performance.
Qualifications
University degree or diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of project management experience, preferably within technology, digital platforms, or data environments.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and operational workstreams.
Familiarity with work management tools such as Asana, Jira, or similar systems.
Working understanding of enterprise technology environments including CRM systems, digital platforms, infrastructure, and data reporting tools.
Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams and working with external vendors.
Project management certifications such as PMP, Agile, or similar are considered an asset.
Experience working in nonprofit or mission‑driven organizations is considered an asset.
