About TuxMat
TuxMat is a Canadian automotive accessories company specializing in premium, vehicle-specific floor liners for the North American market. Our products are engineered with precision to deliver superior protection, fit, and aesthetics, and are sold directly to consumers who value quality and design. As a product-driven organization operating at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and e-commerce, TuxMat is focused on building best-in-class products and a strong customer experience. Our team is collaborative, results-oriented, and proud to create products that drivers trust every day.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer to join our e-commerce team and help build, scale, and optimize the digital systems that power our business. You'll work closely with the Director of E-Commerce to deliver high-quality features across our Shopify platform, third-party integrations, and internal tooling. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, embraces modern development practices, including AI-assisted tooling, and takes ownership from idea to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain features across our Shopify-based e-commerce platform, including custom themes, apps, and checkout flows
- Write and maintain Shopify Liquid templates and leverage Shopify REST and GraphQL APIs to deliver seamless storefronts and custom app functionality
- Develop, optimize, and maintain RESTful API integrations with platforms including QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Postscript, Amazon, SellerCloud, and our fulfillment partners
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate, responsive, and performant front-end code — collaborating closely with designers to ensure faithful and efficient design-to-development execution
- Leverage AI-powered development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate coding, automate repetitive tasks, and improve overall development velocity
- Manage and maintain codebases using Git-based version control platforms (GitHub or Bitbucket), including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews
- Apply fundamental UX/UI principles to deliver intuitive, visually consistent, and conversion-focused front-end experiences
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and logistics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures with a sense of urgency
- Contribute to documentation and best practices that keep our codebase clean and scalable
- Stay current with Shopify platform updates, API changes, and emerging AI and e-commerce technology trends
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Shopify development: Liquid code, Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL), and custom app development are non-negotiable
- 3 - 5 years of hands-on full-stack development experience, with at least 2 years in a Shopify-focused or e-commerce environment
- Solid front-end proficiency with a modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
- Solid back-end experience with Node.js, Python, or a comparable language
- Hands-on experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Fundamental understanding of UX/UI principles, including layout, typography, accessibility, and user flow, with the ability to bridge the gap between design and development
- Proficiency working with Figma, including interpreting design specs, extracting assets, and collaborating through the full design-to-development handoff process
- Solid hands-on experience with Git-based version control using GitHub or Bitbucket, including branching, merging, and collaborative workflows
- Comfort using AI coding assistants and a proactive mindset toward integrating AI tools to improve development workflows and output quality
- Experience integrating with e-commerce ecosystems, including payment gateways, fulfillment systems, inventory management, and CRM platforms
