JOB SUMMARY
The Licensing Specialist is responsible to determine the eligibility of an applicant for cannabis, special event, and class liquor licensing applications, agency registrations and cannabis representative registrations to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and guidelines. This must be completed accurately and within reasonable timelines. The incumbent must work extensively with the public, applicants, industry stakeholders,
and other regulatory bodies in a competent and professional manner and handle a high volume of inquiries.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High school diploma
- Minimum three years of related experience interpreting and applying legislation, policy and guidelines.
- Experience interpreting legal documents such as lease agreements, land title documentation, joint venture, and partnership agreements
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Post-secondary education is a definite asset
