Interim, VP IT Infrastructure, Operations & Cybersecurity Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Duration: 12 Months

Our client, a highly reputable organization, is seeking an experienced Interim Vice President, IT Infrastructure, Operations & Cybersecurity to provide executive leadership during a defined transition period.

This role is accountable for the stability, performance, and security of the technology environment, including core infrastructure, IT operations, service desk functions, and cybersecurity. The Interim VP will focus on ensuring business continuity, mitigating risk, and advancing critical technology and security priorities while partnering closely with senior leadership to align initiatives with organizational objectives and regulatory expectations.

Key Accountabilities Leadership & Execution

Provide interim leadership across infrastructure, operations, service desk and cybersecurity teams, ensuring continuity and performance.

Quickly assess current environment, identify gaps, and establish prioritized action plans.

Partner with executive stakeholders to align technology and security activities with immediate business needs.

Deliver measurable improvements in service reliability, security posture, and operational efficiency.

Infrastructure & Operations

Ensure stability, availability, and performance of infrastructure, cloud platforms, and IT services.

Oversee day-to-day IT operations, service management, and support functions.

Identify and implement quick-win improvements in automation, monitoring, and operational processes.

Review ongoing projects and reprioritize as needed to align with business objectives.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

Assess current cybersecurity posture and address critical risks and vulnerabilities.

Oversee security operations including monitoring, detection, and incident response.

Ensure incident response readiness and lead response efforts as required.

Validate compliance with key regulatory and security framework requirements.





Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

Review and validate disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Ensure appropriate testing and readiness during the interim period.

Manage IT and cybersecurity budgets, ensuring cost control and effective resource allocation.

Oversee key vendor relationships and contracts to ensure service delivery and risk management. Implement appropriate governance, reporting, and performance tracking mechanisms.

Provide leadership, direction, and support to existing teams.

Assess team structure, capabilities, and gaps.

Support leadership transition planning, including documentation and knowledge transfer.

Foster a culture of accountability and focus during the interim period.

Competencies and Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field; relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.

15+ years of experience across IT infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity, with significant leadership experience.

Proven ability to lead in interim or transformation environments, delivering results quickly.

Strong expertise in cloud (Azure), infrastructure, and cybersecurity practices and technologies.

Experience in risk assessment, incident management, and operational stabilization.

Robust stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Ability to prioritize effectively and operate in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
