Salary and Location

Salary Range: $71,846 – $115,129 per annum. Placement on the faculty salary scale is based on education, professional certification and experience and will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Location: Coquitlam Campus

The Opportunity

The Practice Placement Coordinator will support the successful launch of the LPN‑to‑BSPN preceptorship initiative by developing, coordinating, and securing clinical placements across multiple health authorities. Working closely with faculty, clinical partners, and program leadership, the coordinator will establish efficient processes to manage placement requests, maintain communication pathways with partners, and assist with the systems and logistics required to transition students into preceptorship experiences beginning Summer 2027. Knowledge of HSPnet and clinical placement systems is considered an asset, as the role will involve building workflows that align with health authority expectations and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Map potential clinical sites across health authorities.
- Ensure appropriate affiliation agreements are in place.
- Submit and manage placement requests.
- Develop timelines, documentation and communication practices.
- Liaise with clinical partners to confirm student capacity and supervision expectations.
- Establish and refine internal processes for scheduling, data management, student allocation, and faculty communication, ensuring that all policies, requirements and system updates including HSPnet use are in place prior to preceptorship rollout in Summer 2027.

Selections Criteria





- Current RPN /RN registration with BCCNM.
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Nursing; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience with a demonstrated understanding of the student undergraduate experience; teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize and learn a variety of technology‑based software or web‑based programs including database management software.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.Demonstrated positive and effective interpersonal and networking skills, including teamwork and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of curriculum requirements of Health Sciences programs.
- Demonstrated self‑direction, motivation, initiative and creativity.
- Understanding of cultural safety and humility in the context of education.

Additional Information

The Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking a clinical placement coordinator to establish the new clinical placements and processes for the LPN‑BSPN preceptorship rotation scheduled for Summer 2027. This position takes effect September 1, 2026 until August 31, 2027. This is a one‑time only project position with one section of time release (0.5 section in F26 and 0.5 section W27).
