Job Description

The Financial Restructuring Group (FRG) within TD Business Banking is a center of excellence focused on actively managing a portfolio of higher‑risk and/or financially challenged borrowers. The Account Manager III in FRG manages their own portfolio of higher‑risk relationships across Western Canada. The role involves structuring credits and addressing heightened risk scenarios, completing due diligence, reviewing terms and conditions, pricing, and security to reflect the increased risk. It also includes drafting ongoing credit reviews, assessing risk, and presenting recommendations in line with bank policies and procedures. The Account Manager is an experienced advisor who understands a client’s operating environment and structures innovative solutions to meet the borrower’s unique liquidity and business needs.

Responsibilities

- Assist clients in restructuring credit deals to maintain viability and long‑term relationships while protecting the bank’s shareholders.
- Recommend and negotiate loan pricing and fees commensurate with the risk profile.
- Ensure products and services operate in a compliant manner, minimizing regulatory and operational risk.
- Perform independent risk analysis and rationalize any policy exceptions to ensure proper credit risk assessment.




- Develop creative solutions to minimize risk and provide support and flexibility to clients during restructuring.
- Protect the bank’s assets by managing risk monitoring systems and evaluating each account’s performance.
- Monitor and control the portfolio, providing feedback to the Commercial Credit Manager on accounts outside assigned limits.
- Understand market and industry trends to provide value‑added service while mitigating risk.
- Enhance the TD brand by participating in network events and promoting a positive, diverse workplace.
- Actively participate in performance management processes, including reviews, feedback, and coaching.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with qualified firms.

Job Requirements

- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a quantitative discipline; MBA or CFA is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years’ commercial account management experience managing borrowers with significant credit exposure, or equivalent consulting experience supporting business needs.
- Strong financial business acumen, analytical skills, and relationship‑management capabilities with a proactive approach to building and fostering strong business relationships with customers and internal partners.
