Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to join their team. As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be part of the Application Support and Development team supporting core banking systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

This is a contract to Hire opportunity, Contract duration is for 6 months

Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer

Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid work

Pay Range: $55 to $65 per hour (Incorporated + HST, T4 option is also available)

What's the Job?

- Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on mainframe platforms
- Support core and retail banking systems, including batch and online processing
- Participate in application modernization and system enhancement initiatives
- Perform impact analysis, debugging, and root-cause analysis for production issues
- Collaborate with Business System Analysts, architects, and distributed (.NET) teams to ensure seamless integration and performance

What's Needed?

- 10+ years of experience as a Mainframe COBOL Developer
- Extensive banking experience, specifically within core and retail banking environments
- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2
- Proven ability supporting large-scale, mission-critical banking systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to effectively troubleshoot and collaborate
