Senior Business Systems Analyst to support ServiceNow Release Management projects with one of our major banking clients- 40250 Location:
Toronto - Hybrid – 2 days in office
Contract Duration:
12 months (Chance of Extension)
Schedule Hours:
9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week
Overview:
This project aims to develop an enterprise release management process by leveraging ServiceNow Digital Product Release Module and redesign custom application workflows from a legacy ServiceNow instance such as Security Advisory Management, Threat Risk Assessment and other applications. You will play a key role in a high impact, fast moving project that directly shapes business outcomes and contributes to the overall success of the Service Management organization.
Typical Day:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business/functional requirements.
Act as liaison between business teams and technical teams, translating business needs into functional/technical specifications, process flows, use cases/user stories.
Lead requirement gathering sessions and assist in creation of user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
Analyze and improve business processes using Lean methodologies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
Work within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) to manage and prioritize backlogs, facilitate sprint planning, and ensure timely delivery.
Facilitate and support Agile ceremonies: daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives.
Collaborate to evolve DevOps practices to ensure smooth CI/CD deployment processes.
Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions to enhance operations and systems.
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Provide post-implementation support and assist with troubleshooting.
Support and operationalize ServiceNow Digital Product Release (DPR) as the enterprise platform for release planning, coordination, and governance.
Candidate Requirements / Must Have Skills:
8+ years as Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role with business process modeling, requirements documentation, and system design.
5+ years hands‑on technical experience on ServiceNow platform, preferably in Release Management (DPR) and custom scoped applications, with exposure to DevOps toolchains and automation workflows.
5+ years producing high‑quality documentation for integrations or technical solutions.
CSA certified system administration.
Robust experience working in agile/Lean or hybrid environment, collaborating in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills:
In‑depth knowledge of ITIL foundation and Release & Change Management processes.
Experience with system integration and data analysis.
Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
Project Management knowledge for large & complex project teams.
Business Analysis Certification (IIBA®, СВАР®).
Education:
Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
